Usually, when you turn on the tv, radio or open to the news websites, you come away depressed, frustrated, maybe even angry. Definitely pessimistic. The world is a cold ugly place that doesn't seem to want to change except for the worse. What couldn't have been fathomed before is almost normal.
But sometimes, you get a little hope, a little optimism. I wanted to share some of that type of news with you.

The Obama campaign was supposedly all about change. Now that he is in office, he has to "put up" or "shut up"
And Put up, it seems he has:

3 executive orders planned:
- Close Guantanamo
- Ban torture
- Review detention policies

Not bad. What there's more?

- Freeze staff salaries
- Limit lobbyists access

Not bad for a first day
He even revived the Freedom of Information Act (I did not know it was dead???)

Can there be good news about Gaza? Well I guess there can be something refreshing that grants us optimism that there is still good in people in this world, no matter their affiliation or label. Our Jewish community in LA took a positive stance about Gaza

So there is hope for humanity?
Especially in light of the rest of the news.....
