Two pieces of news stood out in the sporting world today, and I don't think either one of them involved a typo of the missing 000 or a proportional difference in currency valuation.
Yankees need $370 million in public funds to complete the Yankee Stadium project.

I guess if the stadium costs $370 million, it costs $370 million. Not that shocking huh? Well, I forgot to mention this is in addition to the already paid $942 million, making the project a $1.3 billion in public funding....
The Aussies on the other hand want to make some renovations and add another covered arena for the Australian Open Venue.

Its not 1 billion, 300 million or even 100 million. It's 3.3 million.....
The Yankees have always had the gigantic payroll for their 25-40 players as compared to the other major league teams. I guess the contractors and construction workers decided they want their proportional share too...
Unfortunately, this speaks volumes on how we as Americans waste.
