At an international track and field event, two compatriots ran the 1500 meter race and finished 9th and 11th respectively. They approached each other to console each other on their lousy performance.... And came to blows. And even after they were separated, they continued to threaten and try to attack each other in the media center with the microphones and cameras running.

They were then both suspended by their national team.

If you don't like to be drawn to tears at a sad yet wonderful story, don't read on, but at least do take the time to support the cause at http://www.mycharitywater.org/p/campaign?campaign_id=16396

A wonderful lovely human being, only nine years old named Rachel Beckwith dedicated her birthday wish to helping those less fortunate. She wrote "On June 12th 2011, I'm turning 9. I found out that millions of people don't live to see their 5th birthday. And why? Because they didn't have access to clean, safe water so I'm celebrating my birthday like never before... I'm asking from everyone I know to donate to my campaign instead of gifts for my birthday."

The plight of those less fortunate in the world is none more apparent than with the availability of clean safe water. Few of us realize the blessing we have to have running water which is safe, clean, and even healthy and tasty. But this wonderful 9 year old did and dedicated her birthday not to getting a new video game system, barbie doll, or other material delight, but instead to addressing a human need far far away from herself.

She with her very simple initiative was able to raise $220 by her birthday, short of the $300 she had set as a goal.

Tragically, just 6 weeks after her birthday, she died as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident.

Since the story went out, thousands have been touched, and at the time of writing this, over $165,000 has been contributed to the campaign.

Although the Tigers did lose yesterday to the White Sox, they are still in first place. Although all of us fans want them to heat up and put some distance between them and the rest of the division, at least for one moment, they were on fire... At least one of them.... Literally...

Wow this one is a good one....

A couple broke into a garage to steal some goods...

In the midst of their heist, I guess they got a bit frisky...

In the midst of their friskiness, I guess she got upset, and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray...

She then took the car in the garage and took off, only to drive it into a pond not too far away....

He on the otherhand put on a raincoat (ie thats all he was wearing), grabbed a bag full of the stolen goods and proceeded to walk down the street....

Could you really imagine someone making this up in the wildest of your dreams...
