Guys
Get out and vote.
Its your chance to make a difference.

For those who like him, like I do, Imam Zaid Shakir had the following to say on the subject:

STATEMENT FROM IMAM ZAID SHAKIR (SENT TO SHAHED AMANULLAH)
"The coming 2008 presidential election is being viewed by most
observers as one of the most critical in the history of America. Not only does
it occur at a time of war, economic crisis and social transition, it occurs
at one of those critical historical junctures when the movements, trends, and
institutions that will determine the direction of the country and
the world for at least the next half century are being formed. The character
of the leader of this nation will be a critical factor in determining how
those movements, trends, and institutions evolve.

As Muslims, we cannot afford silence or inaction at this critical
time. We must be an integral part of the process of change that will have
such a big impact on our future, both here in this country, and in the wider
world beyond our borders. Voting in this election is therefore not a
right, privilege, or option. It is a duty, a civic duty that we should
value and exercise. We can all play a small part in either being a drop among
the millions of others that will come together to form a mighty river of
sweeping change, or we can sit back, do nothing and complain when
the opportunity to act has passed. Hopefully, you will join me in
choosing the former course."

Imam Zaid Shakir
